If unwanted light bothers you at bedtime, start by identifying where it enters the room. Existing curtains may already help. If you still want a change, a sleep mask and a window covering solve the problem in different ways; neither promises to resolve a sleep disorder.

A mask changes what you see

An adjustable mask is portable and does not require installing anything. Compare the strap, material, nose fit and whether you prefer a flat or contoured design. Comfort is personal. Check cleaning instructions and returns before ordering, particularly if you dislike pressure around your face. Product photos cannot establish fit.

Curtains change the room

Measure the window, existing rail and space around the edges. Check panel quantity, dimensions, opacity information and hanging method. A product labelled blackout may still leave gaps around a window. Include any rod, fittings and installation costs in the comparison. In a rental, check what alterations your agreement allows before buying fittings.

Temporary options need a fit check

Portable blackout coverings may be worth comparing when a permanent installation does not suit. Check the surface, fixing method, dimensions and care instructions. Do not assume a removable product will leave every surface unmarked. Follow the supplier instructions and keep any blind or curtain cords secured safely.

Make a small, reversible choice

Try adjusting what you already own first. If you want to compare products, start with the least complicated option that meets your needs. Look at total delivered cost rather than the biggest discount. We have not tested the products in the linked search results or verified current prices.

Adjustable sleep mask

Compare strap adjustment, face fit, wash instructions and returns. A mask may suit people who prefer covering their eyes rather than altering the room.
